Difficulty
HardThe Old Ghost Road cuts 85 kilometres through the spine of the Lyell Ranges — remote, raw, and unlike anything else in New Zealand.
Starting at Lyell Campsite in the Buller Gorge and finishing at Seddonville on the West Coast, the trail follows a historic 1870s gold-rush pack track that was never completed. It's one of the most technically demanding of the New Zealand Great Rides, and one of the most rewarding.
