Eighty-five kilometres through the ancient Pureora Forest on purpose-built singletrack and historic logging routes.

The Timber Trail follows the route of the old King Country logging railways into some of New Zealand's least-modified native forest. Suspension bridges, giant totara, and a remarkable absence of phone signal. Two days to do it justice; three days to do it properly.
